Elmwood Village Charter Schools Announce Executive Director Search 

(Buffalo, NY) – Elmwood Village Charter School (EVCS) is beginning the search for an Executive Director as part of a calculated strategic shift in organizational structure. This comes following the announcement that dedicated service leader, Director of Schools Danielle Bruno, will be retiring at the end of the 2026-2027 school year. 

EVCS School Leadership engaged Beyond Sixth to assist with transition and strategic planning earlier this academic year to ensure a smooth, thoughtful, and mission-aligned process with the success of students and staff at the center. EVCS is incredibly grateful for Director Bruno’s commitment and recognized her upcoming retirement provided an opportunity to evaluate how to best support the schools’ educational model moving forward.

The new Executive Director will provide high-level strategic oversight, allowing internal leadership, the Director of Curriculum and Instruction Anne Wechsler and Director of Operations Liz Evans, to focus deeply on their respective areas of expertise. Director Bruno will work closely with this internal leadership team and the Executive Director into the next school year to ensure daily operations and academic standards are fully integrated into the long-term strategic goals of EVCS.  

“This change is not just about filling a vacancy,” said Board of Trustees Chair Jacob Piorkowski “It is about reinforcing the ‘village’ that makes EVCS unique.”
